Tipasa Duo combines written chamber music repertoire and improvisation into one electrifying performance. Founded in 2022 in Amsterdam, the duo composed of Manon Letort (bass clarinet and clarinet) and Tanine Kian (piano) met during their studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and discovered a common interest in free improvisation. Tipasa Duo wishes to explore the repertoire of clarinet and piano with various pieces from the 20 centuries and their own arrangements. Naturally, coming from a classical backgrounds, their improvisations evoques those different genres and esthetics.
